Upwards of 11,319 NGOs were banished from getting outside assets as their FCRA licenses had lapsed with impact from November 1, 2016 and enlistment of more than 14,000 NGOs was wiped out for damaging the law, the Rajya Sabha was educated today.
Clergyman of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said 11,319 NGOs did not document reestablishment application as per the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act and their enlistments were considered terminated.
According to law, a NGO must have the FCRA enrollment before getting outside assets.
Rijiju said licenses of more than 14,000 NGOs were drop so far for infringement of different arrangements of FCRA.
“According to accessible data, more than 25,000 NGOs are dynamic and utilizing FCRA online administrations,” he said in a composed answer.
