DUBAI: Andy Murray secured his first title of 2017 and 45th of his profession as he overwhelmed Spain’s Fernando Verdasco 6-3, 6-2 to win the Dubai Tennis Championships on Saturday.

World number one Murray guaranteed the trophy in the emirate surprisingly in the wake of losing the last five years back to Roger Federer.

The Scot completed the occupation in only 73 minutes on the first of three match focuses, an untouchable administration champ.

“It’s clearly pleasant to at long last win here,” said the top seed. “It feels awesome to take the trophy surprisingly.

“I played a decent match today. I had somewhat of a moderate begin, yet we’ve had a ton generally evenings this week. However, once I went ahead, I was moving admirably and made a decisive final push.”

Murray enhanced his record over 35th-positioned left-hander Verdasco to 13 wins and only one misfortune.
